Grate Expectations has been established and successfully running for over 25 years & remains the family business it once started as, offering a full service from chimney fans to relining flues, complete fireplaces & stoves, reproduction or antique. We started out & continue to Specialise in antique period fireplaces taking great pride in our marble restoration & cast iron work, with our in house stone mason we can strip, repair & re polish a period marble to its former glory.

Over time the fireplace industry has grown, the feature fireplace can be the main vocal point of a home, but also a highly efficient heating appliance that can add warmth to your home and give you that green peace of mind. And as the market has developed so have we, growing every step of the way from the prestigious antique to the classic sophistication of the contemporary hole in the wall, there’s simply not a style of fireplace we have not mastered. Whether your looking for a rare antique feature, a classic reproduction design, or a truly impressive contemporary feature we are the ones to talk to, offering you the technical advise & assistance required for purchasing & installing your perfect fireplace.

Our showroom based in Wimbledon Chase boasts a large range of displays with several working gas fires to view, or take a look in our salvage yard to find a unique antique cast iron form our vast stock.
If you would like something different we now offer a full in house bespoke design service from our Interior Designer (Danny Cousins BA Hons), which has been set up for our commercial & residential customers who require unique, tailored & designed fireplaces complete with technical drawings, specifications & visualizations.
